Who are Lodge and Caravan Limited
A

Lodge and Caravan Limited are a family run business. We are an indepentent company not linked to Haven or Bourne Leisure. We currently offer five private caravans and 1 lodge to rent out the lovely Haggerston Castle Caravan Park on the Northumberland coastline near Berwick. We pride ourselves on offering a personal, honest and helpful service to all our guests.

The company is run by Adam Chetter. Adam owns a print and design company called Printmeit.com Limited (www.printmeit.com) and employs 6 full time members of staff. The company works with 1000s of charities and businesses across the UK providing flyers, banners, business stationery, shop signage and vehicle graphics. We also provide quite a big of work to Haggerston Castle. We even did the window displays on the sales office.

Where is Haggerston Castle?
A

Haggerston Castle is 8 miles south of Berwick upon Tweed in Northumberland in the North East of England.

I am interested in booking a caravan. How do I make a booking?
A

Our website gives you the opportunity to check the available dates for each caravan. Once you have found the date you are interested in you can make your booking by filling in your information.

Are park passes included in the price?
A

As we are private owners we are unable to provide entertainment passes in with the price. No owners on Haggerston Castle Caravan Park can provide passes. Passes can only be purchased from the on site reception. 

Adult passes are for people aged 15 and over. Child passes are for 5-14 year old. Under 5s do not require passes.

Why do I have to pay a deposit and how much is it?
A

We charge a £50 deposit at the time of booking. This ensures that your date is secured for your holiday. The remaining balance should be paid 8 weeks before the date of the holiday. The deposit payment is non refundable. In the event that you cancel your booking your booking deposit will not be returned.

What payment options are available?
A

We offer you several different payment options. If your selected holiday date is more than 8 weeks away you can make a £50 deposit payment with the rest due one month before the holiday. If the holiday is less than two months away you can make your full payment by using a credit or debit card. If your holiday is more than three months away you can pay weekly or monthly with our Direct Debit option. We use a company called GoCardless to collect our Direct Debit payments and we use Barclaycard for credit or debit cards.

Is the price per person or per stay?
A

The price that you see if the price per caravan. We do not charge per person.

Do you provide the linen?
A

We provide pillows and duvets in with the price. We offer a linen pack which consists of bed sheets, duvet covers, pillow cases, one towel and one tea towel. The linen pack is £25.

What entertainment is there in your holiday homes?
A

Each caravan has a flat screen TV with freeview and a DVD player. Our Allerton and Winchester caravans have Sky boxes in with full Sky Sports and Sky Movies packages, Blu Ray Player and a selection of movies, TV programmes and cartoons on a media drive.

What kitchen facilities are provided?
A

The kitchens are well stacked with all the essentials. Kitchen facilities include microwave, toaster, kettle and fridge freezer. We provide all cups, plates, dishes and cuttlery. If you are looking to spend time making your own meals in the caravans, the site has a Spa Supermarket for all every day essentials. Locally there is an ASDA, Tesco, Morrisons, Lidl and Iceland. Some supermarkets, including ASDA and Tesco, will deliver to your caravan.

What other items are provided?
A

We also provide an iron, hairdryer and hoover in each caravan.

Are the caravans child friendly?
A

Yes they are. As having a young family ourselves we know about the amount of cases and items you have to take away when you go away on holiday. We provide a selection of childrens toys in our caravans.

Do I have to pay for gas, electricity and water?
A

No. This is provided in the price.

How do we check in?
A

We like to keep things nice and simple. Our caravans have combination key boxes fitted to the outside next to the door. This is where we keep the keys for your holiday. On the day before your holiday we will give you the code for this box. This means you can go straight to the caravan without waiting in queues.

Am I allowed to bring my dog?
A

We receive a lot of enquiries if people can bring their well behaved and house trained dogs. Unfortunately we don't allow dogs into our caravans.

Do the caravans have heating?
A

Our Winchester, Allerton and Burgundy caravans have double glazing and central heating. Our Florida caravan has heaters in the living room.

Why do I have to pay a cleaning and damage bond?
A

We take a £50 bond for every booking to cover any damage that may occur when you stay in our caravans. In the event that the damage is more than £50 we will bill you for this. Should items go missing during your holiday we will retain the value of the items. If the items' value are more than £50 we will bill you for this. Should there be any major malicious damage or theft the local Police may be informed and appropriate action will be taken.

When will I get my bond back?
A

We issue the bonds back, by bank transfer, within three working days of your departure once the caravans have been checked. Bond refunds are done by bank transfer so we have an audit trail.

What if I have an emergency or cannot get something work when I am on site?
A

We provide a contact number for the on site security should there be an issue.

Can I smoke in the caravan?
A

We don't allow smoking in the caravans. If you do smoke, we kindly request you do it outside. Should anyone by found smoking we will retain the £50 damage bond to cover additional cleaning

I don't have a car to get there. Is there a local train station?
A

Berwick has a train station which is on the east coast line. The train station is about 10 minutes by taxi to the park.

Where can I park?
A

Our caravans have a dedicated car parking space next to them where you can park. There are no charges for parking.

How do I know you are genuine as I have heard some horror stories about hiring off private owners?
A

We are a company registered with Companies House in England and Wales. The company is run by Adam Chetter. Aside from Lodge and Caravan Ltd, Adam is the founding director of Printmeit.com Ltd. You can find out more information about this at www.printmeit.com where you can contact Adam direct. Our company also supplies some printing and signage for Haggerston Castle Holiday Park and you are more than welcome to double check this with management.
